The exhibitions "Opatija caterers' gold medals" and "Chefs and their menus" are presented in beautiful ambient of Villa Angiolina. This is an oportunity to see all of the awards which Opatija caterers won on the prestigious catering competitions all over the world and european largest collection of "Cookbooks and menues" of Zlatko Puntijar. Exhibiton is organized by Croatian Museum of Turism.

World Christmas Creches is an exhibition organized by International Museum “Childbirth in Betlehem” for the first time in Croatia after Paris, Verona, Lublin, Milan and Ljubljana. It consists 150 Nativity Scenes - from Italy, France, Spain, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Portugal to Africa, Latin America, Korea, China, and Japan.
The largest part of the material is collected by the public competition in which've participated artists from all over the world. Other part of the exhibits came from museums and private collections.

40 years of International exhibition of drawing

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka has been organizing the International Exhibition of Drawings ever since 1968. Forty years after the first exhibition, drawing returns to Rijeka, this year accompanied by animated films.

Skating rink "Sea Flake" in Rijeka is open until the January 15th.
Working days: from 9:00 to 14:00 for children groups, from 14:00 to 24:00 for public
Weekend: from 10:00 to 24:00 for public.
Skating&skates 25 HRK, and 15 HRK for those who have ice skates.
For those who have no experience in skating, an opportunity of organised learning has been offered beginning with Monday 22th December.

The exhibition "Merika – Emigration from Central Europe to the USA, 1880-1914" opened at Rijeka's museum is divided into two parts. The first covers emigration as a labyrinth, and the second focuses on emigrants' future lives, with numerous photos and biographical information.

Concert of German indie band Pull A Star Trip and their friendly duo Alex Amsterdam in "Jazz Tunnel". PULL A STAR TRIP, is based around the songwriter duo Steffen Kelle and Bartholomäus Rymek put out the very well received EP "Hooking up with Hope..." and the album "An Internship In Optimism" that was distributed by the honorable hardcore label Revelation Records from California.

Every Saturday from January 17th to February 25th enjoy the Carneval party in Kastav. In the Kastavian region old carnival customs are still cared for. Carnival starts on St. Anthony's Day and finishes on Ash Wednesday.

Traditionally - for centuries in Liburnija masks take over on the feast of St. Anton, January the 17th and the Carnival folly begins. Dancing and singing, "kampanat&obahajat" until Ash Wednesday. The sound of Antonja's horn, hand over the town's key and hoisting of carnival flag mark the start of Carnival 2009.

The first electronic party in 2009 is DJ Ogi's 7th Journey in a row. In addition to the standard DJ set he will present his 80 minutes Live act.
DJ OGI is initiator techno scene in the Rijeka's scene, and one of the leaders of today's world hard techno scene.

Music band Mandrili start a new season with the concert promotion of his third album "Tibet " (Aquarius Records / Spona). For the first of three concerts they selected three largest Croatian cities: Zagreb, Split and Rijeka. First one on Friday, January 23rd in Stereo Hall.
